Products of A Spark, Given as a Gift.

Following on from my good fortune and the creative spark it generated I have been busy and in the last 24 hrs I have produced 5 new pieces for my Blogshop. I only finished the last one tonight so I'll take its photo with props tomorrow in the daylight and then post them on the Shops' blog after.

In the mean time here is a sneak peak of the pieces on blank canvases so to speak.

This piece is made of recycled elements with only the cording and beads near the clasp being new.
.
The buttons and the brass focal piece were bought in a little store which opened weeks before Christmas in our town, they sell old and vintage items sourced in France.
.
When I'm in there I'm like a kid in a candy store, I riffle through baskets, etc find little nit bits bring them home, clean them and put aside for future projects.
.
The other brass elements, the chain and clasp were both off of a belt I picked up at a charity store and again everything is thoroughly cleaned before reuse.

This whimsical bracelet is made up of glass beads, gold coloured wire and buttons which I handmade, hand painted before sealing with clear acrylic varnish. I absolutely loved how it turned out.

Knotted silver ribbon, silver coloured beads and brown wooden beads with a star dangle makes for a simple elegant piece.

I loved creating this focal using the same materials as the buttons, for it take me home. Paired up with an actual piece of drift wood from my collection of STUFF! and pulled together with some gold wire and chain help to create the look of 'A Beachcomber's Look'.

And last but not least using one of my dragonflies I created an idea that popped into my head last night when I was laying on my pillow awaiting sleep. I immediately got out of bed and quickly sketched the idea to prevent sleep giving me memory loss when I woke this morning.
.
The individually linked beads are a pretty blue between royal and navy. On the other side is organza ribbon and a thin wispy blue ribbon/ edging. The ribbon and the edging were tied into knots at equal interval and little red glass beads were hung from easily made copper jumprings.
.
I also successfully created a fish hook clasp which I hammered flat (another first for me). I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
.
Like I said I plan to list these on my Blogshop tomorrow but if you notice its taking awhile, please bear with me as I will also be packing and getting my eldest off to a brownie weekend away event.

  2. Thanks Lori, it turned out better than I even thought it would, almost tempted to keep it myself.
