Cast Adrift: An Inspired Piece

I have been following a blog Inspiration All Around Us since early January to introduce regular challenges for me to attempt, which I hope will help me to grow in my jewellery making towards a wearable art style.
.
Last week Tuesday was the first posted inspirational piece since I started following the blog. I made a piece but forgot to post it to the blogs editor till earlier this morning. So I'm not sure if it will be posted or not.
.
Even if it doesn't get posted there I thought I would share it still.
.
This was the picture posted to draw inspiration from:
.
And below is my piece I made:
.. Cast Adrift

I was inspired by the colours of the boat and by the wood supports of the pier. I created the piece with beads which I hope matched the colours of the boat and used a piece of drift wood to symbolise the weather beaten wood of the pier. I strung the lot together using hemp cording which ties in with the rope in the picture and since the piece was ocean themed I used two found shell pieces as a toggle clasp set.

I'm working on a number of pieces all at the same time which including this piece are listed in the blogshop.

  4. Kella it's a beautiful piece of jewellery. You were truly inspired. I love all things beachy, even my summerhouse is done out in a beach hut style.

  5. Hi Maureen, its really funny how somethings inspire, I swear I saw the picture and the piece suddenly jumped into my mind in the way it should be. Without the picture I don't think this piece would have ever materialised.

I remember your summer pictures of your summerhouse, have you added anything to it this winter?
