A New Group I have Started & Apologies.

I am a bad blogger of late, with long empty silences between postings but I am endeavouring to change and improve, just bear with me. I'm trying to sort my life out, the family has been battling with colds on and off now for about three weeks, every time one or more gets over a bug someone else comes down with another, my studio is a mess; so much so its dulling my creativity, spring is in the air and this year I don't just have one gardening location to tend to but two in two different places so my time management skills are going to be certainly put to task this year and I think I'm failing already. So please bear with me my readers and followers, things will improve soon, I promise.

Anyhoo! I wanted to share with you about a new craft group I started on the forum site UK Handmade, it is an Artist Trading Cards UK swap group. I became really interested in these ATCs a few months ago when I read about them on another blog, I checked out a few groups but they all swapped internationally and because my finances don't all for any real luxuries of late I didn't want to commit to group where I would be incurring overseas postage fees. So I decide to start my own group, which has taken off really well.

Artist Trading Cards or ATCs for short are a great way to showcase your talents to other artists and crafters, its also another great form of inspiration for when you are having one of those artist block moments. This video gives a great visual explanation.

The group's first swap of the year officially launched today with the participants finding out who they would be swapping with, the theme is Trees and Plants and my head is swimming with ideas. Once my ATC is completed I would give you all a sneak peak but you will have to wait till my recipient receives her card before I reveal the whole thing, nope no spoilers.

The group hasn't got a logo as yet, that will be made out of a photo collage of the first ATCs sent with this month's swap.

So if you are UK based and looking for a great way to share your talents with other creators why not pop on by and check out the forum which is lovely and chuck full of useful info and while you are there, check out the ATC group and others that might interest you.

  1. I've always wanted to do ATCs, and am taking two journaling classes in May to learn how to (hopefully) learn techniques that will help me move there. Stay tuned!

  5. Hi Kella, it's always a pleasure to pop over here and see you! I love the photo in the last post. Kids are always so proud of the gap arn't they? Hope you are all getting over your colds

I wanted to say thanks for your lovely messages that you leave me on my blog and sorry for the while it takes me to pop over. I'm like you, I think, too many fingers in too many pies and too many blogs and challenges to cope with! But I get there in the end!

Hope you have a lovely weekend

    Best wishes
    Carolyn

  6. Thank you too Carolyn for popping by to say hi. Yes we are all feeling much better, well bar the little one who appears well till she falls off to sleep then we realise how bunged up she is with her congested nostrils leading to a very fitfull sleep.

Yes some how I feel like I may have bitten off more than I can chew at times but I don't feel ready to leave anything behind, iykwim. So I'll keep plodding, I'm sure we will all get to where we are heading sooner or later.

Wishing you a lovely weekend too.
    Kella.

  7. Wow, this group sounds like a great idea, I would join except for the fact that I make horrible cards and I've stopped trying. No one would want to receive any card from me. lol
