So anyway lets get down to the reveal, as I previously shared with you before, my bead soup partner this time is Johanna. She sent me the beads and clasp pictured below, in all honesty pink is not a colour I wear or generally work with, so the challenge was on.
.
.
I started first by creating a pendant focal piece with the large heart shaped bead. Using linked eye pins I attached four bits of silver coloured chain which I topped of with one of Johanna made lampworked beads.
.
.
.
I only used one side of the clasp in the design because the other half was missing a hole (
So that was the design process, I am please with the outcome and I wore it yesterday and today when I went out with the girls. I asked others I met to give their opinions on whether the piece worked well with all the differing components and mostly everyone liked it, though I think it was case of they thought its quirky nature matched my general style. So still not sure of its public appeal.
I wore it with two differing single colour outfits and found because of the multi colour beads it easily matched what I was wearing both times. So I can happily say it will be worn quite a bit, so thank you Johanna for the beads you sent me and thanks as well to Lori the Bead Soup Party Host for organising another satisfying party.
OK! OK! enough of my waffle hear is the piece in its entirety...
.
Here is my Bead Soup Reveal titled:
.
Rainbow Heart
.
Now the Party is to last all week long and so there will be reveals on the participating bloggers over the next 8 days (see the list below).
Visit Lori's blog for the participant's links and to see which number they are in the list. There is
also the Bead Soup Party button, which incidentally will link you back To Lori's page, so if you get lost while you blog hop, clicking on a Bead Soup Button on the other participants blogs should take you back to Lori's original list and links, you can also check out the flickr group's link for all the photos of this and the previous bead soup party.

Very nice! Congrats on being early too!
ReplyDeletebig and bold! and you are right a bit quirky, but it works!
ReplyDeletelovely piece!!! the fiber really adds some softness to it, which goes with the heart.
ReplyDeleteLisa, thanks for stopping by, hope you'll visit again.
ReplyDelete.................................................
Moonlitfantaseas, thanks so much for liking it, I know I do but I'll know by the end of the soup if its got likabilty factor with a wider audience.
.................................................
BahamaDawn, thanks for your lovely comments, your piece really rocked!!!
Kella...what a gorgeous piece! I love how you took these pieces and turned them in to something non-traditional and totally wearbable. The heart focal has a nice, substatial size to it and the tassle is just perfect...as are the variety of colors you added with the touch of fibers. I can see this becoming your favorite wear-with-everything piece of art jewelry!
ReplyDeleteI really like the addition of the fibers to the piece. That always adds a special touch in jewerly. I'm sure you'll get plenty compliments wearing this necklace. regards Stefanie
ReplyDeleteI really like how your piece turned out. The piece is deceptive in the photos - delicate looking - and then the photo of you wearing the necklace, SWEET! Both my mom and I love big and bold and awesome necklaces! You done good girl!
ReplyDeleteI like it very much, the heart focal with the chains, the asymmetry, and the wear with everything colors, you did great. Bravo! Interesting clasp, hope you post it again when you figure out the mechanics of it.
ReplyDeleteA great piece to wear dressed up or down! Love the versatility of it!
ReplyDeleteI love it! You've done something with my beads that I would never have even thought off! I really like the chain tassel on the pendant, and the pink cord/fibre cord too.
ReplyDeleteReally sorry about the clasp missing a hole :( I didn't realise myself to be honest! Maybe there's a way to sort of crimp it down??? Don't know, but anyway, you've done a really good job incorporating the other half of it!
I think this turned out really nice, like all your creations. I think you should not be shy of wearing pink though, I think it looks really nice on you. Gorgeous pendant, Kella.
ReplyDeleteHi, this really looks nice, I like the fiber and the heart, really stands out and looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteI really like what you did with this piece, love the focal
ReplyDeleteThat is simply breath-taking! You actually did well with all the pieces, and I love how you did the clasp! I often thought that pretty clasps shouldn't be at the back of a necklace, hidden under hair or not easily seen--but you solved that one easily! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteVery beautyful necklace!! It is looks awesome on you.
ReplyDeleteAhhh yes the fiber brings the top and the bottom together! This is a really lovely
ReplyDeletepeice Kella! So lovely!
I think it turned out to be a lovely piece of jewelry!
ReplyDeleteKella, your necklace is made of awesome and gorgeous! I love your unique touches of adding color and fiber, and it is perfectly balanced when worn. Love it.
ReplyDeleteFunky!! suits you well!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the focal piece and the way you designed it. I feel drawn to this necklace because of the focal and the color choices.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the colors you added and the fiber! Genius. The light colored chunky beads really stand out in the pictures against skin. Very nice design.
ReplyDeleteI love it! The tassel on the heart and the fiber along the neck work really well and also echo each other -- very creative! And I agree that the colors make it versatile; enjoy wearing it! Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteVery cool - what a great way to merge colors you don't normally use into the palatte you usually wear!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower and love what you did with the pieces you received.
ReplyDeletetynebodennecklaces.blogspot.com
Very unusual! Like how you added texture with the fiber and cording.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, and I especially like the asymmetrical aspect of the beads on one side with the fiber on the other. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece; really unusual design! Hope you are pleased with your work :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a FABULOUS way to work with pink! I never would have thought of adding those colors, and you really outdid yourself! I'm so proud of you -- you rocked it. And I loved how you explained each step.
ReplyDeleteGood job!
Yummy colours! I wouldn't have thought of adding those colours to pink, but they work really well.
ReplyDeleteHi Kella,
ReplyDeleteI love your necklace. Great way to tone down the pink -- very versatile.
Emanda
I love the way you took colors you don't wear, mixed up your soup and came up with something you can wear. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job with colors that you don't normally work with! The fibers are really cool, too - they make the whole piece totally funky. Woo-hoo!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for all your lovely comments and compliments they mean the world to me and help me to feel confident in my approach to designing and in the overal outcomes of my designs.
ReplyDeleteI just spent ages replying to all of your comments individually and when I posted the comment replies, 'blogger' ate it and threw it away, critics sheesh!
But it is now after midnight, so I'll be off to bed in a little while, I just wanted to let you all know that I appreciated every single one of your comments.
Keep well and enjoy the other party reveals in the upcoming week.
Kella ♥
Very Cool! Chunky, colorful and fun!
ReplyDeleteNo! don't go back to the drawing board! Love the mix of textures and colors in this one :)
ReplyDeleteyou did a great job w/ the clasp, I really like what you did w/ the chunky pink rocks, they almost become a neutral the way you've used them.
ReplyDeleteso so so pretty! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Kella
ReplyDeleteGreat piece! I also love the fiber in the design. Very chunky and funky. I am with you, I bit off more than I can chew this month too. That which does not kill us, makes us stronger right?
Hi Kella, how have you been? Busy I bet, with the garden and all. I love what you did with your soup ingredients. I think it is a really interesting piece, and great it can go with many outfits! I love the fiber juxtaposed against the polish of the glass, works great and the clasp on the side too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. So colorful. A wonderful piece for the next summer party. ^^
ReplyDeleteYou were right to add these gorgeous colours! It really made the necklace. Fab! smiles, Virginie
ReplyDeleteI like the addition of the fibre. I never think of adding softer components like that to my pieces. Great job!! And congrats for getting done.

ReplyDeleteIt's perfect Kella! Earthy and elegant, chunky and fun - Enjoy:)

ReplyDeleteKella- Love the color that you added and I love the fiber!
ReplyDeleteYour etched dragonfly will be on its way this week. It has been crazy here with the kids out of school for the summer.
Stacy
Sissy & Jack's

Lori thanks again for throwing and host these great beading parties, it is great to meet all these lovely creative souls, it's a great community to belong to and I hope to be a part of it for many more years to come.
This is beautiful! I love the subtle rainbow in it!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI love how your necklace turned out!
ReplyDeleteThank you guys for popping in and for saying hi and also for your encouraging comments.
ReplyDeleteEvery single one is very much appreciated.
I love your Rainbow Heart! You put together a beautiful piece that expresses you in a wonderful way!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannon, it hasn't been to everyone's taste I have shown it to but I think it does suit me and my quirkiness, so I'm pleased with the results.
ReplyDeleteOMG, it's gorgeous! You did a wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteThanks too for visiting my blog. I did finish my red piece if you care to check it out.
Hi Needlewings, thanks for your lovely comments, I checked out your red piece and was blown away at your mixed fibre and bead focals, wow!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique piece! Love what you did with the focal with the chain added to it! The clasp on the side looks wonderful, too. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteIn Beads and Happiness,
Suzann Sladcik Wilson
Thanks Beadphoria, I loved your Lorelei inspired piece.
ReplyDeleteI love the fibre element think it contrasts nicely with the heart, and I really love how you've done the pendant, but for me, I'm not sure about the pink 'rock' beads, just that pendant is so stunning I think they detract a little from it. I'd do 2 neclaces, a really chunky one full of beads, a real statement piece and a more delicate/luxurious one with the pendant and fibre. Either way its still a gorgeous necklace Kella andwhats not to love about that!
ReplyDeleteJane, thanks for your comments and suggestions. You know in all honesty I never thought to make two pieces with my soup, it just for whatever reason didn't occur to me but your ideas are good ones, so I think I'll keep them in mind and when I get tired of wearing it like this, I'll use your suggestions to create two seperate new pieces, thanks again.
